Pondero Winchester – Skater in the Park

Skater in the Park, to be published by Troubador early 2027, is based on the real-life Madge Syers who was the first woman to win a gold at the 1908 summer Olympics. Expected to marry well, Madge has other ideas. She wants to skate at a time when skating is open only to the very wealthy. When her father loses his fortune, overnight, the family is destitute, a long-kept secret is exposed with devastating consequences, and Madge is forced to choose between turning professional and pursuing her dream to compete.
